VI helps GISHWHES (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen) break the Guinness World Record for the largest online photo album of hugs. The previous record was for 69,004. GISHWHES has received more than 100,000 photos, over 60 of which were from VI.
The CW’s Supernatural actor Misha Collins founded GISHWHES, which has broken three world records—now four, once the judging is complete. Samantha Lyle, daughter of VI professor Suzanne Lyle, brought the idea of the photos of hugs to VI at the end of the summer.
“It feels pretty awesome to be a part of a world record, even if it was a very small part,” Miss Lyle said. “I would like to personally thank everyone at VI that agreed to take a picture with my mom for this. We couldn’t have contributed to this record without them.”
