Poets and literary buffs unite as VI Poetry Club hosts an evening of readings. In honor of National Poetry month the Poetry Club will host a campus event on Tues., April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center. Four featured faculty members will read selected poetry – Dr. Mark Roberts, Dr. Gary Poulton, Prof. Edison Jennings, and Dr. Mari Alschuler. All have previously published works in well-known literary publications.
Several students will read their own poetry as well. The event should last about one hour and there will be light refreshments served after the readings. “We are hoping for an enjoyable and inspirational celebration of the ‘language of life’ (poetry),” said Professor Randy Smith, Poetry Club advisor.

The campus community is invited to attend. Students will earn convocation credit.
